Resources for preventing heat related illness

For the past several weeks, Georgia has been experiencing dangerous heat levels throughout the state, spurring the National Weather Service to release numerous heat advisories.

Heat stroke is the third most common cause of death in high school students in the United States, and after five years without a single heat illness-related death on a practice field in Georgia, there have been two such deaths in this preseason. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has created the resources below to be of assistance to you in educating yourself about heat-related illness:
